Thank You Donors: The Foundation Has Established a Monthly Allowance to Support Senior Center Food Pantry

During these difficult times, the Gulfport Senior Center Foundation is still working to help our local seniors. Thanks to the donations of some very generous supporters who helped the Foundation raise sufficient funds to establish a monthly allowance for the Senior Center Food Pantry.
Cash donations are still coming in to the Foundation and more donations of non-perishable foods are still coming in to the Senior Center.
Here’s how you can pitch in.
Although the Gulfport Senior Center is closed to the public, the Center continues to facilitate the Food Pantry as it is able to. Basic food items are being ordered online and the Foundation has made a cash donation to help with future purchases. Cash donations to the Foundation may be earmarked for the Food Pantry. These donations are tax-deductible. Details below.
To make a donation of non-perishable food items to the pantry, please leave the items at the Senior Center door 8-4, Monday-Friday. Staff is available during those hours to collect and disburse them.
At this time the most needed food items are:
  • Applesauce
  • Canned Beans
  • Canned Chicken
  • Canned Fish (Tuna and Salmon)
  • Canned Meat (SPAM and Ham)
  • Canned Vegetables
  • Cooking Oils (Olive and Canola)
  • Crackers
  • Dried Herbs and Spices
  • Fruit (Canned or Dried)
  • Granola Bars
  • Instant Mashed Potatoes
  • Meals in a Box
  • Nuts
  • Pasta
  • Peanut Butter
  • Rice
  • Shelf-stable and Powdered Milk
  • Soup, Stew and Chili
  • Whole Grain Cereal
Thank you for helping the Foundation to support our Seniors.
The Foundation office is currently closed, but our Office Manager is working from home to facilitate your donations.
