Nan Colton Performs Harriet Beecher Stowe Friday, November 16
St Pete storyteller Nan Colton will bring author Harriet Beecher Stowe to life on the stage of the Catherine Hickman Theater on Friday night, November 16 @ 7 pm. Tickets are $18 and the event benefits the Gulfport Senior Center Foundation.
Best known for her novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Stowe spent many of her later years in Florida. A collection of stories about Florida, written when she wintered in Mandarin, FL shortly after the Civil War, were printed in book form as Palmetto Leaves.
Colton, performing artist-in-residence at the Museum of Fine Arts in St Pete, has been presenting live portraits of remarkable women since she began her Solo Productions in 1998.
Doors open at 6:30 with curtain at 7 pm.
