Nan Colton IN PERSON at the Catherine Hickman Theater
Join Us for a Sunday matinee, February 6, 4 pm
NOTICE: Tickets will be available at the door for this powerful performance
Performing artist, Nan Colton, returns in person to the Catherine Hickman Theater stage as legendary feminist author Virginia Woolf on Sunday, February 6. Curtain time for the afternoon matinee is 4 pm.
For the scripting of “A Portrait of Virginia Woolf”, Nan focused on how an artist creates character – from both the point of view of the visual and verbal artist.
Since Nan is using theater as her “canvas,” she added a special prop to her usual simple set. Visual artist Karen Mitchell Tremmel painted a replica of Jacques Emile Blanche’s portrait of Virginia Woolf from a photograph of the author, just as Blanche did.
The historically accurate performance is set in 1941 as Virginia contemplates her life’s portrait.
Tickets are $25.
